WIROC is the Jewel in the Crown of the Academic calendar of the
Bombay Orthopaedic Society. One of the most eagerly awaited
events
of the year, our enthusiasts join in for academics, learning and
interaction with their professional friends and colleagues.
Orthopaedics has rapidly
expanded with
the evolution of multiple subspecialties.
While this growth has enriched our field, it
has also transformed WIROC into a vast,
multi-chambered, and at fragmented academic magnum opus.
This year, we aim to bring back the
personal touch. Delegates spend three full
days at WIROC, and it is our responsibility as organizers to ensure
true
value -
particularly in strengthening professional
growth and enriching clinical practice.
Therefore, the theme for WIROC 2026 is
“Practice-Changing Guidelines.” Our
objective is that every practicing
orthopaedic surgeon - whether a
generalist or a specialist - returns with renewed enthusiasm,
updated
knowledge,
and clear, evidence-based guidance to
enhance patient care.
The challenge of balancing subspecialty
depth with broad-based relevance
remains, but it is one we embrace
wholeheartedly. Our program is designed
to cater meaningfully to both the general
orthopaedic surgeon and the
subspecialist.
I warmly invite you to join us for this stellar
event and spend the extended December
weekend in an atmosphere of shared
learning, fellowship, and rejuvenation -
refreshing your mind, spirit, and passion
for the year ahead.
